Creating a backup GIF for your Flash banner ad

Not all Internet users can see Flash banner ads. This can be because they have not installed the Flash plugin or they are using a version older than the version your Flash movie was published in. This is usually a small percentage of Internet users, but still large enough that you want an alternative ad to be served in case they cannot view Flash.

Create a GIF backup for your banner ad and include it with your Flash ad when you send it to the publisher. This can simply be a static version of your Flash banner ad or it can be an entirely different GIF animated banner ad. Most banner ad designers will include this as part of your Flash order if you ask nicely. If not, order a separate GIF banner ad to use as your backup as well as for advertising where Flash banners are not accepted.
